Overview

This is for you if: You want to learn all there is to know about Dutch Oven Cooking and enjoy a scrumptious group meal.

Do you like to spend time in the outdoors AND eat good food? Who says you have to settle for freeze dried packaged meals and granola all the time!

During this fun and informative workshop, learn about the history and current uses of cast iron and Dutch oven cookery, how to choose and care for a Dutch oven and, most importantly, how to use various ingredients to create delicious camp meals perfect for sharing.  Class will include a demonstration of how to cook a one pot pasta meal, scrumptious cobblers and breads, and other delights. Cap off the day with a group meal (included in cost) and you have the perfect ending to your outdoor culinary experience!

Minimum age is 10 years old.

What to Bring

Camp chair, drinking water, clothing suitable for the conditions.

Additional Information

Riverside lodging and camping are available onsite and can be reserved directly with either USA Raft or Nolichucky Gorge Campground.  Please notify us if you have any dietary allergies or restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate. Note, however, given the nature of this class and the preparation required, significant deviation from the menu may not be possible.
